My Story: My mom dated a guy for a couple of years who kayaked and he got me into it.
My Story: My 4th grade teacher took me to a boat demo with another student. I saw a rec kayak there and had to try it out. A year later I got my first kayak and went on my first river trip.
My Story: Canoeing in scouting, got a guidebook "Keystone Canoeing" and have been exploring ever since.
My Story: I bought my first boat an M-I sport from a family friend when I was 14.
My Story: Some college buddies asked me to tag along on a outing on the Loyalsock in 2005. The river went from tame to flood stage while we were on it. I was hooked especially since I was on a sit on top.
My Story: My oldest brother opened an outfitter and through some exploration with another brother and two cousins, I started kayaking.
My Story: As a child I grew up in Montana by the Blackfoot river. My father used to put me in a little raft on this creek in our back yard. The creek had a series of ledges and slides. I'd get worked all the time and I loved it! One day when i was 15 I saw a video clip on Blue Torch TV of Clay Wright kayaking in the high Sierras in Nor Cali so i realized I needed a kayak! I worked landscaping that summer and then bought a kayak at the end of the summer.
My Story: I grew up around water and in canoes with my parents and they got me my own kayak when I was about 9 years old. I switched to C-1 when I was about 12. I'm so thankful that my parents got me into kayaking cause I love it and it's had a very positive impact on my life. Also paddling has afforded me opportunities to travel abroad and see places I probably never would've if I wasn't into kayaking and competing as much as I am.
My Story: Rob Yager at Mountain Man took me out. Shoutouts to the Brownclaw, Demshitz, River Left, Team M&sM, and JBEATS.
My Story: I saw Brenton in a boat and thought he was hot, so I started to get closer to him, the rest is history.
My Story: I thought being a raft guide could be sweet. So I went there, did my training for 3 months and then started to guide. I after decided to start kayaking. My first run ever was on a 6miles long RIV section. I was effraid... Then I just kept paddling everyday I wasn't working! A big thanks to Francis, Jeremie, Chuck and Gab for their tips. (KEEP THE PADDLE IN THE WATER YOUNG PADAWAN!!!) hahaa
My Story: Parents got me into it in 5th grade where i joined the Natahala Racing Club and slalom kayaked for the next two years then gave it up when I joined the wrestling team and burned out on kayaking only at the natahala and french broad rivers. I spent all my time practicing and competing at tourneys all year round. After my Freshman year at App, I burned out and began kayaking again running the Green River my first time in Spring of 07 and I was hooked. I may be a little obsessed with kayaking these days.
My Story: There were a bunch of older kids in my boy scout troop that paddled and i thought it would be really cool to paddle a rec boat and do overnighters. I went to the store and ended up with an S6.
My Story: My father started kayaking sometime in the early 70s, but he wouldn't let me get in a boat until 1991. It's been all downhill since.
